Friday’s Games
Non-district
BY TYLER CLIFTON
KFYN SPORTS DIRECTOR

BONHAM – Sanger and Bonham entered Friday’s game off a Week 0 loss, and although the defense and special teams have made strides, the Warrior offense still has some work to do.
Five turnovers (three fumbles and two interceptions) were too much to overcome in a 35-14 loss to the Indians despite a Dalton Cagle interception and Lane Fox fumble recovery.
Sanger sophomore quarterback Dane Evans completed 15 of 27 passes with one interception for 196 yards and three touchdowns, including two to Ryan Scott. Nathan Rotter caught a 46-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and ran a kickoff back 88 yards for a score in the third for a 21-0 lead.
T.J. King blocked an Evans punt attempt off a bad snap, and the ball bounced right into the waiting arms of Jeff Williamson, who ran 15 yards the other way to get the Warriors (0-2) on the board. Brock Squier scored from four yards out, and Steven Van Meter’s 45-yard interception return set up Scott’s second touchdown from 19 yards out for the Indians (1-1).
Kyle Washington, who completed 15 of 29 passes for 159 yards, found Chase Gregory on a 1-yard scoring toss for the final margin.
